SafetyAware App Updates: Bivy Stick Integration Improvements – Released July 20, 2024

• Performance Improvements in Fringe Cellular Areas

  • The July 2024 SafetyAware App release introduces significant performance improvements in fringe cellular network environments.  In these environments, there may be a very weak cellular signal.  The App may try to communicate over these networks but fail, due to the fact that the satellite signal strength is not sufficient to allow full two-way communication between the App and the platform.   With these improvements, we’ve improved the ability of the app to detect these network communication failures, and to automatically retry sending the message via satellite over a connected Bivy Stick, without unnecessary user error messages.

• Offline help is now available
  • Previously, help was only available via a connected network with access to a web-based knowledge base.  Now users will be able to access a Bivy Stick FAQ while disconnected from a cellular network.
